Pastor

Welcome,

In July 2013, I was appointed as the pastor at Canal Fulton UMC.  I grew up in East Ohio and as a pastor's kid in the United Methodist church.  I am a graduate of Geneva College, the birthplace of college basketball, with a degree in Human Services.  After graduating, I worked for several years at a residential treatment facility for children and youth with emotional and psychological disorders near Pittsburgh.  While I was there we brought a great deal of healing to those children through therapy and medication, but I felt God's call to offer the healing and transforming power of Jesus Christ.  I graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and prior to coming to Canal Fulton I led two churches in the Youngstown area.  During my time in the Youngstown area, I met and married my lovely wife, Emily.  We enjoy hiking, canoeing, and playing and watching just about any sport.  Both Emily and I have always loved team sports and love going to see local high school sports, especially basketball.

We would like to invite you to encounter Jesus Christ and know the healing and wholeness that come in His presence.  You are invited to come join us for worship and join in community to feel the awesome power of Jesus Christ in your life.  Our hope is that you would find our church family to be a loving community in which you can respond to the grace of God, grow in Christ's likeness, and become a part of God's work to transform the world.

In Christ,

Pastor Jon
